ITTOG Residential Study Visits

Following their win of the Africa Got Soul Competition at Camp Africa 2012, ITTOG students are gearing up for Camp Africa 2013 with the aim of defending the trophy. Camp Africa is an innovative project dedicated to fostering sustainable development activities and Responsible Tourism.  It brings local, regional and international youths together on an annual basis to encourage integration and cross-cultural dialogue.  The campers engage in multi-faceted sporting, cultural, educational and community focused activities organized each year.

Other study visits will include four days study visit to Tumani Tenda, one day excursion to South Gambia and five days study visit to Senegal. These visits provide exciting, direct and relevant learning activities outside the classroom. During the visits students are engaged in hands-on activities that lead to improved outcomes for students, including better achievement, standards, motivation, personal development and behaviour. Feedback from students who have been on these study visits shows that the first-hand experiences of learning outside the classroom can help to make subjects more vivid and interesting for students and enhance their understanding. It can also contribute significantly to students’ personal, social and emotional development.
