The Institute of Travel and Tourism offers professional courses in various areas of the industry backed with practical experience that cannot be obtained in any other learning center currently within The Gambia.
The ITTOG brings people together in a supportive and challenging educational environment that provides its students the skills to excel in a career in tourism globally.
The institute specialises in hands on work; practical training in all sectors of the tourism industry with special emphasis on Travel Agency, Accommodation, Tour operations/ Tour Repping, Guiding, Ground operations, Events management and general tourism business management among others.
The Institute is linked with several Institutes of learning overseas including South Nothingham College which serves as its main partner and sponsor The college also works together with SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) of the University of Amsterdam.
These two institutions supports the (ITTOG) by providing visiting lectures periodically in fulfill its mission in building of a highly reputable professional institute of learning that would best serve the needs of the tourism and other service industries.
The Institute host several University and College student groups on professional exchange programme which are centered on project assignment on various issues relating to Pro-Poor Tourism , Responsible Tourism , Sustainable Tourism among others with particular emphasis on problems of developing countries using The Gambia as an case study
Our Institute is linked with the International Center for Responsible Tourism and as a result promotes the teaching of Responsible Tourism as a core activity.
The Institute design tailors made courses and consultancy services for various institutions to meet the needs of the industry.

ANOTHER AWARD FOR ITTOG STAFF
Sheikh Tejan Nyang, Principal and founding member of The Institute of Travel and Tourism of The Gambia (ITTOG) . has received an ward for his contribution to tourism development in West Africa at AKWABA in Nigeria. Mr. Nyang has extensive experience in tourism and travel industry organisations in the private and public sectors and has worked in the areas of travel, tourism operations and distribution, transport logistics and tourism policy development and implementation.

ITTOG Residential Study Visits
20 Students studying an Advance Diploma in Travel and Tourism are preparing for Camp Africa 2012. Camp Africa is a transnational project that will link Africa and the Rest of the World. Following a pilot project in The Gambia in 2011, it is intended that Camp Africa will provide an annual event and ongoing activities from 2012 onwards.

Every year The Institute of Travel and Tourism of The Gambia (ITTOG) offers two (2) scholarships to its students to study in the UK.In its quest to providing Gambians quality education the institute has unveiled its scholarship winners for 2011. HabibGibba and Omar A.J. Saho are both awarded scholarships to study in South Nottingham College, UK, while Raymond Mendy is awarded to study at Loughborough College, UK. These three (3) students have portrayed satisfactory academic and social potentials in relation to their studies at the Institute of Travel and Tourism of The Gambia (ITTOG), thereof deservingly rewarded a scholarship package
